Registration and login problems

Do I need to register?

You do need to register to book an advertisement using The account management section also allows registered users to view their bookings, repeat previously booked advertisements, make amendments to future classified bookings and speeds up the booking process.

How do I register?

If you have never advertised with Archant before you will not have an advertising account. Registering for an account is simple via the Registration page, simply click on Register now on the homepage and fill in the form. Once registered, you will be able to start booking advertisements and have access to all options within the account management section (see My Account).

If you are an existing advertiser, please call 0845 602 0006 or send us a message via the Contact Us section, to have an online account created within 24 business hours.

How do I log in

How do I login?

On the homepage, enter your username and password in the fields provided. They must be repeated exactly as you entered them during registration, including the same use of upper and lowercase letters.

I have forgotten my password / username - What do I do?

Select Forgotten your username or password, on the homepage, then please submit your email address or user name. You will receive an email containing your username and password reset link.

I need to change my profile details

I need to change my registered profile details

Log in via the homepage as normal and select the My Account tab at the top of the page. Within your account management section, select My Profile followed by Edit my details. Edit your details and click save to update your account.

I live outside the United Kingdom - can I still place an advertisement?

Yes, however all prices are quoted in British pounds only. You may or may not be able to claim back the VAT. Please consult your tax professional for further advice.

What makes a good Ad?

A good advertisement will gain interest by ensuring the first word attracts those in the market for a particular product or service i.e. Painter and Decorator or Washing Machine. The advertisement then needs to sell through the use of selling points and benefits (the description). It is important that the advertiser makes it as easy as possible for the reader to respond by including a full telephone number with area code (or mobile number), email and web address and opening times etc. if appropriate.

Problems booking an advertisement

What is the deadline for placing a booking for a particular publication date?

Deadlines vary by publication and day. The system will check your booking automatically against our deadlines before being accepted. If the date you wish to advertise is not available on the calendar, this will mean it is too late to place the booking via the system. You can call 0845 602 0006 or send us a message via the Contact Us section, to check for availability in our other newspapers.

Can I repeat an advertisement I have previously booked?

Yes, you can repeat previously published adverts through the My Advertisements option, found in the My Account section if you are a registered user.

What kind of images can I use?

What kind of images can I use in a picture box booking?

You can use photographs and logos in the following file formats: JPEG, GIF and BMP. The image must not exceed 5MB in file size.

How much does an advertisement cost?

How is the cost of an advertisement calculated?

The cost of an advertisement is calculated on the selected publication, section, advertisement size/ number of lines, the number of insertions and selected style.

How do I get a VAT receipt?

Will I receive a VAT receipt?

Yes, users will automatically receive a VAT receipt. If you have not received your VAT receipt please contact us via the Contact Us section.

Managing your account

What management tasks can I self-perform once my adverts have been booked?

Once registered, you can view your booking history via the My Account section. Through this section, you are also able to view, repeat your bookings as well as update your profile.

How do I amend, cancel or copy my booking once it has been placed?

Please note that you will not be able to amend your booking after you have booked has passed or once we have validated your booking. If you wish to make a change to your booking once it has been prepared for print, please call us 0845 602 0006 and provided it is prior to deadline, we may be able to make the appropriate amendments on our system.

Can I speak to a sales team?

Yes. Whether you want to place an order that cannot be booked via self-service (such as property for sale) or you want to book a publication package that is not available via self-service please call your local office.

Other questions

Will Archant make any amendments to my bookings?

Bookings may require amending once submitted in order to have them conform to our house style. This may result in a change in the format of your booking so that it meets our house style criteria. This does not occur often and we will contact you if these changes increase the cost of your advertisement.

Which web browsers can I use?

Archant self service, can support Internet Explorer versions 8.0 onwards and Firefox version 2.0 onwards. Archant self service can be used on most tablets and mobile devices.
